I’m a Jiaotai/Nerikomi potter based in Portland, Oregon. I moved to the U.S. in 2024 with my family, and now I'm a full-time potter. Jiaotai, also known as Nerikomi, is one of the most intricate pottery techniques. The beauty of this art lies in its honesty: the patterns run through the entire piece, inside and out, symbolizing that what you feel in your heart is what you share with the world.
Growing up in China, I admired Jiaotai pots for this reason, and I want more people to appreciate their craftsmanship and symbolism.
