Rebecca Boraz

Rebecca Boraz is a Portland-based ceramic artist who creates handbuilt porcelain lamps that explore light, form, and the emotional resonance of everyday objects. With a background in art therapy and printmaking, Rebecca brings a thoughtful, process-oriented approach to teaching, encouraging students to slow down and engage with the tactile possibilities of clay. Her own work emphasizes negative space and slab-building techniques, using light, shadow, and cutout patterns to create sculptural lamps that evoke presence and containment. Rebecca holds degrees from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and New York University. She is represented by Froelick Gallery, where she recently debuted her ceramic lighting works in her solo exhibition Holding Space.
